Ted Cruz was in the news recently, instead of trying to help out Texans who are literally freezing to death in a snow storm, he took his family to Cancun.
“I started having second thoughts almost the moment I sat down on the plane, because on the one hand, all of us who are parents have a responsibility to take care of our kids, take care of our family. That’s something Texans have been doing across the state,” said Cruz, who had said in an earlier statement that he flew to Mexico because his daughters had asked to take a trip and he was trying to be a “good dad.” “But I also have a responsibility that I take very seriously for the state of Texas and frankly, leaving when so many Texans were hurting didn’t feel right and so I changed my return flight and flew back on the first available flight I could take,” Cruz continued.
The party of personal responsibility refuses to ever take responsibility. It is not your daughters’ fault that you fled the state like a pussy, because they don’t pay the bills. Ted Cruz is like if “my kids made me do it” was a parent. Professional Republican yes-man Dinesh D-Souza chimed in, with perhaps the most bizarre excuse.
What could @tedcruz do if he were here in Texas? I’m hard-pressed to say. If he’s in Cancun, that means he’s not using up valuable resources of energy, food and water that can now be used by someone else. This is probably the best thing he could do for the state right now.
Well, Beto O-Rourke, who isn’t an elected official at all, answered that question with his actions.
Vanity Fair: I just want to read you this headline that I just read, “Beto O’Rourke is organizing wellness checks for seniors during Texas blackouts. Ted Cruz is in Cancún.” Quite a contrast. What’d you think when you saw that news hit the wires? My first thought was, “You may not have beat Ted Cruz in the Senate race, but now you’re doing his job.”
This is the what happens when you have a political party that is more interested in corporate profits than actually governing. But wait, it gets worse, because Trump’s eldest son chimed in as well, accusing the “democrat governor” of Texas for the storm outages, even though Greg Abbott, the current governor of Texas, is a Republican.
The hypocrisy of those trying to cancel Ted Cruz who have been totally silent on their Democrat Governor’s incompetence is telling. My thoughts on the Cancún Cruz fauxoutrage! #Cruz #CancunGate is fake.
You know, I’m old enough to remember when his dad had a twitter account. Back then, he was tweeting that in Biden’s America you would see rioting and looting in the streets by Black Lives Matter, even though that is exactly what we saw all last year under Trump. Lastly, we should look at a fake tweet by Ted Cruz, which said basically that he would believe in climate change if Texas froze over. Denying that climate change exists because it still snows in some places is like denying poverty exists because you’ve never gone hungry. Ted Cruz doesn’t really think climate change is fake or that his daughters are to blame for his abandoning Texas, it’s just that his donors don’t care and so he doesn’t. To cover up his real constituents, Democrats or the left in general are always to blame for Republican screwups, even when they aren’t in power. Beto O’Rourke wouldn’t be my first pick for public office in Texas, but if I did live in Texas, I would vote for him. This tragedy has proven that Republicans are incapable of leadership because they despise helping people. Ted Cruz needs to be impeached, resign or be voted out of office.
